Will Brooks, the former UFC fighter and Bellator lightweight champion, seems to be switching things up in his career. Last Friday, he got his fifth straight win after defeating Jhonasky Sojo in their main event of Titan FC 81. Check out the video below to see how Will Brooks stopped Jhonasky with a rear-naked choke!

Brooks, who is 36 years old, has been asking for a chance to compete in the UFC or any other big promotion again for the past few years. After his recent win, many people thought he might get it. However, at the post-fight interview, Brooks gave a touching speech that almost seemed like it was going to be his last competition as a mixed martial artist.

Tonight, I felt like God was reaching out to me and telling me that it’s time for me to give up because I’ve given everything my best effort. Even though I can be quite stuborn, I gave this my all, but it doesn’t feel like enough.

If Brooks retires, he’s had a super successful career with 25 wins and only 5 losses. He was extremely successful while competing in Bellator (9 wins, 1 loss) and became a world champion there. After that, he moved on to the UFC for four fights, then competed in PFL where he did really well and didn’t lose any of his three fights!

Brooks is most famous for his two victories over Michael Chandler which both happened during his time at Bellator- he especially knocked it outta the ballpark by finishing off Michael Chandler real quickly (in just four rounds!) at Bellator 131 in November 2014.
