A thrilling middleweight encounter featuring Anthony Hernandez and Chris Curtis is scheduled for UFC’s event in September.

Insiders familiar with UFC’s upcoming plans have disclosed to MMA Hook that the contest between Hernandez and Curtis is slated for the UFC’s event on September 16 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

In the UFC’s 185-pound category, Hernandez is making waves, coming into this bout boasting a remarkable winning streak of four consecutive fights. Known as “Fluffy”, Hernandez has successfully concluded three out of his last four matches, inclusive of consecutive knockout wins against Edmen Shahbazyan and Marc-Andre Barriault. He also secured a victory over Josh Fremd in a decision match at UFC 273 in April 2022.

Meanwhile, Curtis is set to make his third UFC appearance for 2023, still in pursuit of his initial win for the year. Ending 2022 with a resounding knockout against Joaquin Buckley at UFC 282 in December, “The Action Man” subsequently lost a unanimous decision to Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 287 in April. Curtis made his comeback two months later at UFC 289 to face Nassourdine Imavov, but the match was ruled a no-contest following an unintentional head-on collision.
