UFC Jacksonville Weigh-in Results: Josh Emmett and Ilia Topuria on Point, Two Others Fail to Make Weight

Josh Emmett and Ilia Topuria had no trouble meeting the weight requirements for the UFC Jacksonville main event, but unfortunately, a couple of preliminary fighters faced some issues.

During Friday’s official weigh-ins, the featherweight contenders successfully stepped onto the scale. Emmett weighed in at 145.5 pounds, while Topuria weighed in at 146 pounds (both utilized the one-pound allowance for a non-title bout).

Emmett, ranked No. 7 in the MMA Hook Global Rankings for the 145-pound division, is coming off a loss in an interim title fight against Yair Rodriguez last February. He aims to maintain his position against Ilia Topuria, ranked No. 8, who boasts an undefeated record of 13 professional fights, including his first five UFC matches.

In the co-main event, flyweights Amanda Ribas and Maycee Barber also successfully made weight, coming in at 125 and 126 pounds, respectively.

However, the preliminary portion of the event encountered several missteps. Loik Radzhabov, Jamall Emmers, and Kleydson Rodrigues all exceeded the weight limit during their initial weigh-in attempts.

Radzhabov weighed in at 157.25 pounds, 1.25 pounds over the limit for his lightweight bout against Mateusz Rebecki. Radzhabov did not attempt a second weigh-in, and the bout will proceed at a catchweight, with Radzhabov forfeiting 20 percent of his purse as a penalty.

Rodrigues weighed in at 129 pounds, three pounds over the flyweight limit for his fight against Tatsuro Taira. This is Rodrigues’ second consecutive instance of missing weight, as he was one pound over in his previous fight against Shannon Ross at UFC 284. It is currently uncertain whether Rodrigues will make another attempt to weigh in.

Emmers initially weighed 147 pounds, exceeding the featherweight limit by one pound. However, he successfully made weight later at 146 pounds for his fight against Jack Jenkins, and the bout will proceed as scheduled.
