Jorge Masvidal and Kevin Holland were close to starting a fight a few days early in Miami. In the video that was on social media, they could be seen shouting at each other with security coming in between them. However, no actual physical contact happened – it remained only an argument.
The cause of the incident is unknown, however people speaking to MMA Fighting said it was nothing serious and that no one threw punches. Moreover, UFC security team were already aware that there had been some kind of disagreement between Holland and Masvidal before their fights on Saturday, so they made sure they kept their distance.
After their altercation, Holland posted a video about it and he wasn’t happy since it might change the opponent for both of their fights at UFC 287. As of now, nothing has been changed in either fight involving him or Masvidal.
This Saturday, two fighters – Masvidal from Miami and Holland – will compete against different opponents in a pay-per-view broadcast. Masvidal is fighting at home while Holland fights someone else. To make sure they don’t get too close to each other before the fight, the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) asked them to attend a press conference on Thursday.
