At the beginning of 2023, Brendan Loughnane and Rob Wilkinson were winners in a card for the PFL. On Saturday night in Las Vegas, featherweights and light heavyweights competed in this event. In the main match, Marlon Moraes was no match for Loughnane’s leg kicks, and Loughnane emerged victorious.
Moraes had been losing in his last five fights and was doing okay at the start of this one. But then, Loughnane started hitting kicks that hurt Moraes’ right leg. He still answered to fight Round Two but his leg was too weak and eventually he got knocked down by another powerful kick from Loughnane.
In the co-main event, Wilkinson, who is the light heavyweight champion in the PFL and had won four fights by knockout in 2023, faced Thiago Santos, a former UFC title contender. Wilkinson didn’t try to fight with “Marreta’s” strikes but used take downs throughout their three rounds together to prevent Santos’s momentum and eventually earned a decision victory.
Will Fleury won against Krzysztof Jotko in the light heavyweight class with a split decision. Meanwhile, Movlid Khaybulaev and Bubba Jenkins used their skills to beat Ryoji Kudo and Chris Wade in the featherweight class – which also means they each got three points for that victory.
At the beginning of the card, the five light heavyweight fights kicked off the event. Marthin Hamlet and Josh Silveira both won their matches through submission in just one round and earned six points each for their weight class. Alejandro Flores, Gabriel Braga, and Ty Flores all received three points each when they won their fights based on decisions from judges. To find out more about these results, click here!
