Nikolas Motta was set to compete against Ignacio Bahamondes on April 8th in UFC 287’s undercard. Unfortunately, he had to pull out of the match because he got hurt. His injury was caused by an accidental headbutt that happened during practice.

Motta has released a statement that includes a photo of the injury he got from UFC 287. (Note: It might be offensive for some people).

“Be careful not to look at the second picture if you don’t like such things. Recently, I got a nasty headbutt in wrestling practice and my coaches and people who trust me decided it was best for me to postpone my fight for 3 weeks so I could have time to heal properly. Even though I had stitches before, this one was different because a tendon had swollen up where the cut is on the photo. After giving it some thought, I realized that they made the right decision. In order to prepare myself and stay fit for my upcoming fight, I hadn’t seen my family since last September – which was quite hard! Now all that’s left is a few more weeks of recovery and following the process until I’m back.”

Motta (13-4) has only fought in the UFC twice. He won his first match against Joseph Lowry on Contender Series and lost his second fight to Jim Miller by TKO in the 2nd round, but he managed to win his third match quickly with a TKO against Cameron VanCamp. As of now, it is not known if anyone will replace Bahamondes at UFC 287 which will be held at the Miami-Dade Arena Estadium in Miami, Florida.
