Mike Perry, a former UFC pugilist, found a rival in Sean Strickland at UFC Vegas 76 on Saturday night.
Since he inked a deal with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship in 2022, Perry, also known as “Platinum,” has made waves in the world of bare-knuckle boxing, unofficially earning the title of the sport’s king. He has remained undefeated with a 3-0 record, taking down MMA crossover competitors Julian Lane, Michael Page, and ex-UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold. Perry’s latest victory, an intense second-round knockout of Rockhold, garnered unprecedented attention, setting him up as the premier attraction in the world of bare-knuckle boxing.
The event attracted UFC superstar and former two-division champ Conor McGregor, who even stepped into the ring for a face-off with Perry following the latter’s triumph over Rockhold at BKFC 41.
Perry’s focus, however, has now shifted to another UFC luminary.
After witnessing Sean Strickland’s second-round knockout of Abus Magomedov in the main event of UFC Vegas 76, Perry has issued a challenge for a face-off with the audacious Strickland.
“Sean Strickland and I should duke it out in bare-knuckle boxing; show us the money and let’s make it happen,” Perry posted on Twitter, tagging Dana White, the UFC president, and the official BKFC account.
Strickland, on the other hand, has his own agenda to consider first.
Having clinched his second successive victory at UFC Vegas 76 and extending his UFC middleweight record to 9-2, the candid contender has voiced his ambition for the next title shot against UFC champion Israel Adesanya.
