Mike Jackson vs Pat Miletich UFC Fight

Mike Jackson has confirmed his first fight post-UFC, set to clash with a UFC Hall of Famer who has been off the fighting scene for over a decade.

Jackson is set to go head-to-head with Pat Miletich in the upcoming Caged Aggression 36. This two-night event is scheduled to take place on October 13 and 14 at the RiverCenter in Davenport, Iowa. The fight is being touted as a much-anticipated and contentious contest of technique, age, and ideological differences.

MMA Hook learned from promoter Mike Goodwin on Monday that the match will consist of three five-minute rounds and will be completely sanctioned.

Find the full details of the fight announcement below.

After an unusual three-fight stint with the UFC, including a win over CM Punk that was later declared a no contest, and a disqualification victory over Dean Barry at UFC Vegas 52 in April 2022, Jackson is back in action. His final encounter in the octagon saw him defeated in 93 seconds by Pete Rodriguez at UFC Vegas 62 last October.

Upon parting with the UFC, Jackson became embroiled in a fierce feud with retired MMA veteran Jake Shields, which led to an unexpected fight with Shields at the UFC Performance Institute earlier this year.

In a conversation with MMA Hook post the Shields episode in January, Jackson expressed his desire to fight Miletich, accusing the 55-year-old of provoking him on social media. When asked for a response, Miletich expressed his openness to a bout with Jackson, but doubted its likelihood, suggesting that Jackson “didn’t want the smoke.”

The fight will now take place, marking Miletich’s return to the MMA ring since December 2008. Miletich boasts a track record of ten fights for the UFC, with a record of 8-2, and has previously held the UFC welterweight title. He was welcomed into the UFC Hall of Fame in July 2014.

Miletich was a beast in his time, but it’s been over a decade. Jackson might be just trying to make headlines here. Should be fun to watch anyway, i guess.

Seriously? Miletich is 55 and hasn’t fought in years…seems more like a publicity stunt than anything else. Don’t get me wrong, I respect the guy, but this is a bit much.
