UFC 287 has been affected by Li Jingliang’s injury. Some people who know what the UFC plans to do have told MMA Fighting that Jingliang must pull out of his fight against Michael Chiesa at the coming UFC 287, scheduled to take place in Miami on April 8. The tournament still wants Chiesa to stay, but they haven’t found someone for him to fight yet.

Over the weekend, videos of Jingliang came out saying he had to quit because of an injury that could need surgery. He wanted to get back his win against Daniel Rodriguez at the UFC 279 event in September but was getting alternating victories and defeats in the last six fights he was in.

Chiesa had won 4 fights in a row from December 2018 to January 2021, but he has now lost two in a row to Vicente Luque and Sean Brady. If he gets another opponent, UFC 287 will be his first fight since November 2021.
