KSI will not be fighting Tyron Woodley anymore. He is going to fight a different person named Joe Fournier on May 13th in London at the Wembley Arena. Joe Fournier is 40-years old, living in England and began boxing in 2015. As of now, his record is 9 wins with nine knockouts since then.
In February, KSI told MMA Fighting that he was thinking about fighting either Fournier or Woodley. But he was not excited anymore about battling the former UFC champion in welterweight.
I was thinking, this guy Woodley hasn’t won any fight since two years ago and he has had six straight losses. Do I really have to fight him? Or maybe Joe Fournier, who is 9-0 in fights with no mixed martial arts stuff involved. Also, Fournier also once held an international belt of some kind.
KSI, who is 29 years old and undefeated in boxing, wants to prove that he can beat Woodley in a fight. This would show everyone that he could knock him out faster than Jake Paul did. He already has a big win against Logan Paul and recently won with a knockout in the first round against esports player Faze Temperrr. KSI is considering if it makes more sense for him to fight Woodley or not.
In January, Woodley said he wanted to hurt KSI because the negotiations they went through were very disrespecful. He even had a call with KSI’s manager saying that he has never been treated like this regarding contracts. On Wednesday, KSI chose Oscar Fournier as his next oppenent because of Fournier’s good boxing record.
KSI says that Fournier has more experience than Tommy Fury and Jake Paul because he fought a 2021 exhibition match with David Haye. However, KSI believes that when people enter the ring with him, they quickly realize that he’s in a league of his own—all challengers either leave the ring bruised, broken, or knocked out.
