There’s been a change in the UFC 287 plans for heavyweight fighters. An insider revealed to MMA Fighting that Chase Sherman and Karl Williams will now fight at the UFC 287 pay-per-view event in Miami, Florida. This has also been confirmed by UFC Brazil.
Williams has taken the place of Chris Barnett, who couldn’t fight for unknown reasons. The 33-year-old Williams is on a winning streak with 5 victories in a row – his latest one was at UFC Las Vegas a few weeks ago, where he beat Lukasz Brzeski by getting all the judges to agree with him.
Sherman is aiming to win his fifteenth UFC match at UFC 287 where Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya will face off for the middleweight championship. In his last fight, Sherman had a disappointing loss against Waldo Cortes-Acosta in November. Before that, he got a great victory over Jared Vanderaa back in July which ended in round three.
