Henry Cejudo is wasting no time in returning to the octagon as he gears up to face Marlon “Chito” Vera at UFC 292 in Boston on August 19th.

The announcement of this matchup was made by UFC President Dana White through ESPN on Monday.

After a three-year retirement, Cejudo made his comeback in May but fell short in his attempt to reclaim the bantamweight title, suffering a split decision loss to Aljamain Sterling.

Eager to get back in action, Cejudo expressed his desire to return sooner rather than later. However, his preferred opponent, Merab Dvalishvili, was unavailable due to hand surgery, pushing their potential fight to the fall.

Instead, Cejudo will step into the cage against Vera on the same night that Sterling defends his title against Sean O’Malley in the main event.

Vera has accepted the challenge following his loss to Cory Sandhagen in March, which put an end to his four-fight winning streak. Prior to that setback, Vera had defeated notable names like Dominick Cruz, Rob Font, and Frankie Edgar, solidifying his position in the bantamweight division.

Now, Vera aims to add Cejudo’s name to his list of victories as they collide in a featured bout at UFC 292 in Boston.
