Goiti Yamauchi had to go through surgery in order to recover from an injury he got while competing with Michael Page in a Bellator match. Luckily, the operation went well and Yamauchi admitted that he feels better now. He also noted that it was only the first time something like this has happened in 30 years of martial arts event history.

Yamauchi said that he is doing physical therapy, but does not know when he will be ready to train for martial arts again. But surprisingly, he thinks that it could happen sooner than expected because his body is healthy and has a lot of energy.

When asked about returning to action in the Bellator cage, Yamauchi thought it would probably happen sometime in 2024, but might even come earlier at the end of 2023. All this will depend on how well and quickly he recovers, as well as how confident he feels with himself.

Yamauchi (28-6) had won three fights consecutively against Neiman Gracie, Levan Chokheli and Chris Gonzalez. But his recent loss of a match in San Jose was the first since he started competing in the welterweight division.
