On July 15th, Arjan Bhullar and Anatoly Malykhin will be fighting each other in the heavyweight title unification battle. The event is going to take place at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Meanwhile, in the United States it’s July 14th. ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong has verified this information which was reported to MMA Fighting on Monday. This card will be called ONE Fight Night 12 and it can be viewed on Amazon Prime Video starting 8 p.m EST for viewers in the US.
“It’s officially happening on July 15th,” Sityodtong said. “I just found out about it a couple of hours ago.”
The fight was supposed to happen in March, but the plans had to be changed due to changes that happened with the broadcasters. Now, the heavyweight title fight will take place during the summertime instead.
Arjan Bhullar is back in ONE Championship after winning the heavyweight title with a knockout in 2021. He was planning on having a fight this past September, but due to an injury he wasn’t able to participate. But now that he’s all healed up, Arjan Bhullar wants to continue his four-fight winning streak which includes two victories from the UFC before signing with ONE as a free agent.
Malykhin is a Russian fighter who has never been defeated. He won the interim ONE heavyweight championship in 2022 and also became light heavyweight champion after he beat Reinier de Ridder using a knockout. So far, Malykhin has an unbeaten record of 12-0 and all of his fights have ended with a win.
We don’t know where Bhullar vs. Malykhin will take place yet, but we do know that they’re both fighting each other in July.
