Dustin Jacoby didn’t take much time to reclaim victory.
On Saturday, Jacoby went head-to-head with upcoming talent Kennedy Nzechukwu in a key light heavyweight match at the main event of UFC Nashville. The ex-Glory kickboxer, Jacoby, dispatched Nzechukwu in just 82 seconds.
Nzechukwu initiated the fight aggressively, immediately pushing Jacoby on the defensive and cornering him around the cage. However, Jacoby managed to maintain distance, leading the Nigerian contender into his fighting zone, a strategy that proved successful just a minute into the fight.
As Nzechukwu lunged for an attack, Jacoby unleashed a quick and brutal counter right hand that sent him to the canvas. Spotting his chance, Jacoby jumped in, compelling referee Gary Copeland to intervene and halt the fight.
This victory was crucial for Jacoby, having previously suffered two consecutive losses, both by decision, to Khalil Rountree and Azamat Murzakanov. Back on the winning track, Jacoby is likely to maintain his No. 15 ranking in the UFC’s light heavyweight division. Meanwhile, the defeat ends a three-match winning spree for Nzechukwu, who was close to earning his first ranking in the promotion.

Sad for Nzechukwu… he was doing pretty good with a 3-win streak. Tough break! Hope he bounces back from this.

Jacoby’s boxing skills were top notch. His timing n precision, just brilliant. Nzechukwu needs to work on his defense.

Man, didn’t expect that. Thought Nzechukwu had the upper hand at start. Guess, it’s not over till it’s really over.
Wow! Jacoby back in the game! Nzechukwu never saw it coming, that right hook was brutal!
