Drake risked a lot of money hoping that Israel Adesanya and Jorge Masvidal will defeat their opponents at UFC 287. On Saturday, news came out that Drake placed $1.4 million dollars worth of bets on Stake (an online crypto sports book). In the upcoming fight, Adesanya is going up against Alex Pereira and Masvidal has a match against Gilbert Burns. Plus, both Adesanya and Burns are sponsored by Stake.
Adesanya wants to get the UFC middleweight championship back from Pereira at UFC 281, while Masvidal aims to end his three-game losing streak against a one-time title contender, Burns at Kaseya Center in Miami.
Here are Drake’s risky stakes:
– Adesanya KO win: He bets $400,000 and can earn up to $1,840,000 in return.
– Adesanya to win win: He bet $500,000 and could obtain $885,000 if successful.
– Masvidal’s KO win: He wagers $200,000 and if he wins then he get up to $1,720,000.
– Masvidal’s win: He gambles on $300,000 with potential earnings of about $1,410,000.
Adesanya is seen as the favourite to win over Pereira, even though Adesanya has lost against him three times before. Masvidal on the other hand is expected to lose and his chances of winning are low, with him being quoted a +300 underdog.
Drake really likes Masvidal and he has risked lots of money on him previously, unfortunately Drake reportedly lost $275,000 of crypto when Masvidal was defeated by Colby Covington.
Drake lost $2 million when his chosen fighter Adesanya was defeated by Pereira at UFC 281. But, if he can turn things around at UFC 287, Drake will get back more than that with a win of $5,855,000.
