Chael Sonnen Stunned by Joe Rogan’s Remarks on Jorge Masvidal and Georges St-Pierre: “That Guy’s On Drugs!”

Chael Sonnen is a fearless MMA fighter who has bravely competed against some of the greatest martial artists ever. He has fought Anderson Silva, Jon Jones and even Fedor Emelianenko! But unfortunately he never got to challenge fellow great fighter Georges St-Pierre.

Retired but never forgotten, people often think of St-Pierre as the best. Because of this, it was surprising when Joe Rogan said that Jorge Masvidal is “on another level” and even better than St-Pierre. Basically, he believes Masvidal is a much better fighter than what St-Pierre faced during his career.

Sonnen said on his YouTube channel, “That doesn’t make sense. Joe Rogan is great at his job and when you talk a lot sometimes you make mistakes”.

Joe thinks that the current welterweights are better than Georges St-Pierre was, but I think this isn’t completely true. Joe got to that conclusion by saying that the competition is tougher than it used to be. But how does the competition have anything to do with how good a person is?

Rogan used Masvidal as an interesting example, and people on social media quickly noted that he started professionally in 2003 – one year after St-Pierre. Despite being BMF champion, Masvidal (35-16) has never won an undisputed UFC championship, but St-Pierre was a two-time welterweight champion who defended his title nine times.

Though he had never fought him, throughout his career, Sonnen had chances to get to know the abilities of the Canadian star ‘GSP’. In other words, according to Sonnen, this situation was too strange to make any sense.

Sonnen said that when you’re talking about a person, it does not make sense to talk about someone else instead. He says that if you talk about different people, your comment about them cannot be used to explain the first person. In other words, it’s confusing and doesn’t make sense.

I’m not trying to show off or brag, but I fought with everyone and I can confidently say Georges is the best fighter ever. Even though it’s not encouraged to share what happened inside practice rooms, if something didn’t go your way then you can tell the story. That’s your answer.

“What do you think it means when Georges shows great skill and defeats a top wrestler like Josh Koscheck, or knocks out a champion like Matt Hughes, or passes the guard of an expert Jiu-Jitsu fighter like Nick Diaz?” he asked. “Which 170-pound opponent do you think Georges can defeat? Who do you believe has a chance to beat him? If we make assumptions based on those questions, then we should not trust them – because it’s wrong to assume one thing from the answers to other things. We should tell the kids in the backseat that whoever does this is not thinking straight!”

UFC Royalty’s Break-Ups, Set-Ups, and Legal Trouble

Khamzat Chimaev is not worried about his upcoming fight with Colby Covington and wonders how he could possibly hurt him. Meanwhile, Paulo Costa signed a new four-fight UFC deal and wants to face Khamzat Chimaev and Sean Strickland in 2023. Jeff Molina recently revealed that he’s bisexual and pointed out that it shouldn’t matter but people still care. Rafael Cordeiro believes any of the top 15 lightweights in the UFC can beat Conor McGregor.

Beef. Belal Muhammad is mad at Colby Covington and promised to hit him because Jon Anik threatened Belal.

Bummer. Ante Delija, the heavyweight champion of PFL, hurt himself and can’t fight Yorgan De Castro on April 7th.

Trouble. Jake Paul and seven other famous people have been charged by the SEC for talking up a fake crypto scheme that’s against the law.

Tenure. Holly Holm just signed a 6-fight deal with UFC San Antonio and she’ll likely get a title shot if she wins one or two more fights.

Fabricio Werdum is no longer with the Professional Fighters League (PFL). He has left the company.
